This link includes many sentences using this word according to my changes and none according to the previous entry. Some examples:
それは、青い宝石をあしらった指輪だった。
そこには獅子と龍をあしらった紋章が刻まれていた。
表面にラピスラズリをあしらっている。
箱の中には、宝石をあしらった勲章のような物が入っていた。
  Comments:
The previous entry implied this word marked the thing being decorated with を, when in reality it markes the thing being _used_ to decorate with を. ランプをあしらう does not mean "to decorate a lamp" - it means "to decorate (something) using lamps." These changes better reflect this.

maybe a clarifying explanation is needed since double ko refers two two ko's that determine the life of a group, while a triple ko (see entry for 三コウ) can be 3 unrelated ko's over the board. Maybe it's to minute a difference to be mentioned in a dictionary. Ill let you decide.

As per usual with go terms derived from verbs people do use it as verb but it's hard to tell whether the full katakana variant exists as verb, usually the verb forms are far more common in the spoken language, especially when explaining a sequence of moves it will come up as verb.

"「直衛(ちょくえい)」主に戦艦や空母を護衛する駆逐艦や巡洋艦などに使用される言葉。"

Also in Kanjigen and jitsuu
But kanjigen has it slightly differently, citing a fifth century resource: 宿直して守る。また、その人。〔後漢書〕
And jitsuu isn't really helpful here

http://www.warbirds.sakura.ne.jp/ansqn/logs/B001/B0000413.html

Most of the few direct hits were results about military history.
I think it's at least safe to say that this is a rather specific term, and should thus be treated as such.
