	Comments:	I agree with Peter, though I must concede that the previous gloss was a bit unwieldy. I know that "fishermen's boss" isn't much better, but "boss fisherman" sounds like an enemy in a videogame, on top of the fact that the 網元 doesn't fish. Maybe that gloss should be left out alltogether. > I think these entries can be marked as dated, rare, or hist since they're linked to a traditional, pre-modern Japanese fishing systems [...] [hist] may be a fit. Definitely not [rare], and [dated] doesn't feel quite right either. "Traditional" probably describes it best I really struggled trying to come up with a more fitting word than "contractor". We usually have the more detailed gloss lead for such words. fisherman → fishermen ＞[...] so this may be to some extent a term for a now-historical phenomenon. Not entirely sure this needs a [hist] tag, but maybe we could have something like "(now largely replaced by fishery associations)" on the second gloss of the first sense?

	Comments:	The JJ dictionary entries agree that an 網元 is/was the "Big Man" of a fishing community, who owns the boats and the nets and employs others as fishermen to work on them -- the equivalent of the big landowner in a farming community (Nipponica says this is often a feudal relationship: 封建的な身分関係). This also matches the explanation given in the novel I encountered the word in (獄門島). GG5 glosses it as "fisherman's boss". Nipponica and Wikipedia say that the post WW2 reforms of the fishing industry took away the 網元's traditional privileges and passed them to more modern fishing cooperatives, so this may be to some extent a term for a now-historical phenomenon. I didn't find any references that backed up the current "head of a fisherman's union" definition (but I haven't gone as far as to actually remove it...) The guys employed by the 網元 are the 網子; we don't seem to have an entry for that currently, but if we did we could xref it.
