i have no ill feelings towards this editor and i'll assume that i came off as irritating and insistent, for which i apologize 
but there was no "arguing", my edit was rejected with no real explanation (or at least i didn't understand it and needed something more clear)
ja wiki and smk both have 映山紅 for つつじ, looking online it's clear that the other forms are associated with つつじ
unfortunately i'm not interested in the sense of community (as the policy puts it), i strictly care about the quality of this project and its entries (and i don't believe refusing to "argue" because of anonymity is in the interest of that)
adding kanji forms associated with つつじ (in smk, wiki and in online sites) seems to make this entry higher quality
how exactly is this "unhelpful"? we already have separate entries where the same search-only kanji forms are used
i'm very happy to back off even if given explanations i don't agree with, as i'll be able to avoid repeating that in future edits

In addition to the literal meaning, there is a figurative meaning which amounts to "folding in" or "adding in" some additional information to something.
