| Comments: | I think it's fine to use rK when there's only one kanji form (we've done it plenty of times already). I was just wondering if use of 躑躅 was was more common (proportionally) than the n-grams suggest. The ratio of tweets containing 躑躅 to tweets containing つつじ was about 1:7, but I realise I forgot to check ツツジ, which is significantly more common than either of them. Happy to add rK back in. |

| Comments: | I think tagging little used kanji with rK has many benefits, not just relating to entries with more than 1 kanji surface form. For example, we're telling people using jmdict to make flash cards etc. that they don't need to bother remembering the kanji form because it's not commonly used/understood. |

| Comments: | my edit with the comment "how would it be unhelpful at all?" (+ various sources i linked) was rejected by an editor who said this: "https://www.edrdg.org/wiki/index.php/Editorial_policy#Anonymous_Submissions I'm sorry but I don't have patience for arguing with anonymous contributors. Please build a little rapport and I'll be happy to talk." i have no ill feelings towards this editor and i'll assume that i came off as irritating and insistent, for which i apologize but there was no "arguing", my edit was rejected with no real explanation (or at least i didn't understand it and needed something more clear) ja wiki and smk both have 映山紅 for つつじ, looking online it's clear that the other forms are associated with つつじ unfortunately i'm not interested in the sense of community (as the policy puts it), i strictly care about the quality of this project and its entries (and i don't believe refusing to "argue" because of anonymity is in the interest of that) adding kanji forms associated with つつじ (in smk, wiki and in online sites) seems to make this entry higher quality how exactly is this "unhelpful"? we already have separate entries where the same search-only kanji forms are used i'm very happy to back off even if given explanations i don't agree with, as i'll be able to avoid repeating that in future edits |
