Not an abbreviation of ござある, simply derived from it. Just as ます from まする is, or される from せられる.
      No reference supports [abbr]

I don't think the xref to ござある is needed anymore, this xref from an archaic to an even more archaic term is just a hint to a (rather obvious) etymology now.
An xref to ございます far more appropriate if the sense note persists.

v4r is used for classical verbs lacking the secondary onbin form of the 未然形, as caused by the volitional/hortative auxiliary verb う (<む).
Whether the 連用形 is い or り doesn't change the amount of stems present. Also ございます has its own entry in most dictionaries as well as here.

Is this added here or would this have its own entry? Because the kokugos have てある as one word. But afaik it is not taught that way in western japanese school.

      Second sense in shinsen: ❷[嗤う]...
Also in some way specified for the second sense in other kokugos as well, and to be consistent with with the 笑い entry.

I am skeptical of that [vi] for the ridicule sense, every kokugo apart from sankoku that distinguishes the senses into transitivity has only [vt] for this sense.

Should the xref point to 御座る, since it comes from 御座ります?

If [rK] is accepted the priority tag should probably be removed.

Neither がんす nor ごあんす can be in this entry, can they?
Both don't match the kanji form 御座んす and are not given with kanji in any of the kokugos.

I've proposed the second sense to 御座ります as well, maybe an xref to it after it has been approved?

I've raised this in the new discussions area on github, I think a way to properly tag these words would be great, not just putting [exp].

小学館 uses the term "lumber." In a plain English dictionary, the meaning of "lumber" reflects your original translation. Plus, the word "lumber" has a good feel about it, for example:-
He was a big guy. He came lumbering down the High Street. People seemed to instinctively step out of his way. He came like a lion on the prowl.
I would also suggest that "lumbering" is included in the following entry:-
のしのしと歩く 【のしのしとあるく】 (exp,v5k,vi) to walk heavily and clumsily.
However, I shall not make that alteration, just in case you don't want to include "lumber" in the main headword above.

This is rather a mess. The XX珈琲 forms are not common and I think they can be made search-only. I propose to:
      - approve this to pin it down;
      - propose a version with only the kana forms visible. Others can decide whether to accept it or not.
