Again, I don't think that sense should be split out. If "Apple" were normally written lower case and had become genericized then yes, I think including it in the fruit entry would have made sense.

removing [vs] and changing sense 4 as i said in my previous comment

i still don't think it makes sense to have sense 7 here just because of shared etymology, esp. as it's a trademark
it's a bit like having "Apple (company)" in a "apple (fruit)" entry and it's even more awkward since it's under many senses and has restrictions

 a. The canoe of the Greenlanders and other Eskimo, made of a framework of
light wood covered with sealskins sewn together; the top has an opening in

prevent the entrance of water.
 b. Any canoe developed from the Eskimo kayak, used for touring or sport.

頭頂 = A precise, pinpointed "crown" of the head. (Usually formal, anatomical)
頭頂部 = The broader "top area" of the head. More commonly used in everyday speech, particularly in contexts like hair loss (頭頂部の薄毛, "thinning at the top of the head").
  Comments:
This is telling:
頭頂部の薄毛	1168	100.0%
頭頂の薄毛	0	0.0%

sanoku entry for 頭頂 example is [~部].

Encountered discussing a dog with a bald spot. In fact, 頭頂 autocompletes in google as 頭頂部, and 頭頂部 autocompletes as "頭頂部 薄毛", so this seems particularly useful for discussing people's bald spots.

Image search for 頭頂部 is *all* hair loss images.

Second autocomplete is pain: 頭頂部 痛み
This yields a lot of images too.

I'm trying to provide some guidance without suggesting something too unusual for jmdict. I'm making some corresponding changes to 頭頂 to attempt that.

Actually they did a pretty in-depth survey on the show 探
偵ナイトスクープ in I think the 90's to see where people
stop saying あほ and begin to say ばか. あほ turned into
たわけ somewhere in Gifu (they found the "exact" border
between two houses somewhere in Sekigahara I think). It
started as a segment on a single show but they went on
to create a two-three hour TV-special and even produced
a map/poster detailiing their finds:

removed sens as ばか isn't tagged with it. I've heard the
claim that to Tokyoites, あほ is more hurtful than ばか,
but it's the other way around in Osaka.

Notes at 頭頂部. Trying to figure out how to give some indication of usage between the two.

Looking at various data, it appears that "vertex" and "parietal" are both adjectives in the anatomical sense, and a whole raft of terms are simply using 頭頂 as a prefix, without の.

This term most definitely can mean "top of the head", but it seems you'd only use it that way in limited contexts. I'm not even sure what those contexts would be.

sankoku tags 頭頂 as [form], but 頭頂部 quite clearly is not. If you're talking about pain or baldness, you should use 頭頂部.

Odd. Unidic points 日おい to 日覆い, but WWW images for 日おい differ significantly from those for 日覆い. Not a sunshade in sight. I suspect false positives, so I'm leaving it as-is.

most of the dictionaries mention it and it seems to be a very common mistake so I thought having the note wouldn't hurt.

I also read it wrong the first time I saw it. I guess most people do hence the notes.

"右に出るものはない" site:mainichi.jp 5 hits, including physical objects(perhaps 2 PR pieces reference humans):

  Comments:
I have split off an entry for the 居ない form, as it seemed inevitable.

Marcus's 2018 ngrams analysis seems to have encountered a case where the the ngram database just maxed out:
右に出る者はいない	No matches (actually extremely common)
右に出る者がいない	No matches (actually extremely common)

Encountered as 右に出る者はいません。sanoku: 右に出る者がいない. Japanese is full of mysteries, the latest of which for me is "why should 者 pair with 無い for people?". In any case, modern refs (sankoku) give いない. mainichi shinbun usage is *almost* completely consistent with いない(refs). When ない is (rarely) used, the subject is inanimate (for example, a book; a doubly-metaphorical use of this term?).

I searched for 右に出る者 when I encountered this. Anyone who searches a longer string than that is asking for a bit much, I think. If you stop there, は・が doesn't really matter. But we could [sK] a bunch of forms if we wanted now.

Special recommendation to keep a 無い form on this entry, and 居ない form on the other, to make the 無い・居ない distinction abundantly clear.

  Comments:
I've changed it to the most common surface form, but if we wanted to, this could be four entries, with が instead of は and いない

(then again we already have 右に出る by itself, so this should probably be enough).
The note can probably be trimmed.

Shinsen also gives 〘文章語〙 for the first sense.
  Comments:
Gloss of the second sense probably needs some work. I had trouble grasping what they actually meant here.

Jawiki also mentions 従軍商人 as a similar word. GG5 has that one as "a provisioner; a sutler".
  Comments:
I think this is a useful word to have.
Does a military tag work for this, since they weren't part of the military themselves.

Not a noun.
Not every chapter.
English translations of the Analects use "said".
I don't think [form] and [rk] are appropriate here.
I don't think the x-ref is needed.
