| Comments: | removing [vs] and changing sense 4 as i said in my previous comment i still don't think it makes sense to have sense 7 here just because of shared etymology, esp. as it's a trademark it's a bit like having "Apple (company)" in a "apple (fruit)" entry and it's even more awkward since it's under many senses and has restrictions |

In fact, 頭頂 autocompletes in google as 頭頂部, and 頭頂部 autocompletes as "頭頂部 薄毛", so this seems particularly useful for discussing people's bald spots. Image search for 頭頂部 is *all* hair loss images. Second autocomplete is pain: 頭頂部 痛み This yields a lot of images too. I'm trying to provide some guidance without suggesting something too unusual for jmdict. I'm making some corresponding changes to 頭頂 to attempt that. |

| Comments: | あほ is def. more common than あほう in modern speech. Not listed as such in daij but today, I think it's fair to say this is mostly [ksb], even if あほう might have historically been used elsewhere (just guessing based on the daij entries). _ Actually they did a pretty in-depth survey on the show 探 偵ナイトスクープ in I think the 90's to see where people stop saying あほ and begin to say ばか. あほ turned into たわけ somewhere in Gifu (they found the "exact" border between two houses somewhere in Sekigahara I think). It started as a segment on a single show but they went on to create a two-three hour TV-special and even produced a map/poster detailiing their finds: https://cdn-ak.f.st- hatena.com/images/fotolife/c/casemaestro89/20170626/2017 0626221606.jpg _ removed sens as ばか isn't tagged with it. I've heard the claim that to Tokyoites, あほ is more hurtful than ばか, but it's the other way around in Osaka. |

| Comments: | Notes at 頭頂部. Trying to figure out how to give some indication of usage between the two. Looking at various data, it appears that "vertex" and "parietal" are both adjectives in the anatomical sense, and a whole raft of terms are simply using 頭頂 as a prefix, without の. This term most definitely can mean "top of the head", but it seems you'd only use it that way in limited contexts. I'm not even sure what those contexts would be. sankoku tags 頭頂 as [form], but 頭頂部 quite clearly is not. If you're talking about pain or baldness, you should use 頭頂部. |

|
| Comments: | I have split off an entry for the 居ない form, as it seemed inevitable. Marcus's 2018 ngrams analysis seems to have encountered a case where the the ngram database just maxed out: 右に出る者はいない No matches (actually extremely common) 右に出る者がいない No matches (actually extremely common) Encountered as 右に出る者はいません。sanoku: 右に出る者がいない. Japanese is full of mysteries, the latest of which for me is "why should 者 pair with 無い for people?". In any case, modern refs (sankoku) give いない. mainichi shinbun usage is *almost* completely consistent with いない(refs). When ない is (rarely) used, the subject is inanimate (for example, a book; a doubly-metaphorical use of this term?). I searched for 右に出る者 when I encountered this. Anyone who searches a longer string than that is asking for a bit much, I think. If you stop there, は・が doesn't really matter. But we could [sK] a bunch of forms if we wanted now. Special recommendation to keep a 無い form on this entry, and 居ない form on the other, to make the 無い・居ない distinction abundantly clear. |

| Comments: | I've changed it to the most common surface form, but if we wanted to, this could be four entries, with が instead of は and いない instead of ない. (then again we already have 右に出る by itself, so this should probably be enough). The note can probably be trimmed. |
