daijisen 「ツーボールナッシング」 (=two balls, no strikes)
https://ameblo.jp/takurochiaki/entry-10229561049.html
【ツーボールナッシング】
投げたボールのカウントで、ストライクが0個でボールが2個のこと
「ノー‐ストライク、ツー‐ボール」「ノー・ツー」ともいう。
応用→ストライクが0個でボールが3個だと
     「スリーボールナッシング」
     「ノー‐ストライク、スリー‐ボール」
     「ノー・スリー」
  Comments:
they can say either Xボール・Yストライク or Xストライク・Yボール
and Yストライク can be replaced with ナッシング if Y=0
and Yボール can be replaced with ナッシング if Y=0
but the first part is never replaced with ナッシング

usually though ナッシング means no balls

  Comments:
Sorry for the delay as always. I've read all comments on entries for the last couple months, this is the only one I'd ask you to possibly reconsider. (Too bad about おもろ, but I take the point).

To be very clear, my edit here had 0 to do with 問題ナッシング. The xref here was just bookkeeping.

I encountered ほころびナッシング in the wild. I checked jmdict to understand why the character might have said that. My search for "ナッシング" took me to this entry, which did not explain anything. (never mind that the only sense here is a [noun] sense, and this wasn't a noun usage).

I agree that seeing the "問題ナッシング" explains the issue *if* users can see it. That's precisely the problem. Many dictionary apps (including jmdict, by default) will include *prefix* matches, but won't include suffix/substring search on a term that has an exact match. I only found 問題ナッシング because I went out of my way to check as part of suggesting this edit.

The only way to fix at is to add the sense here.

And I don't consider that a hack/workaround. I think the entry is legitimate. It's attached to a couple of common collocations, it's appeared in recent mass-media, and it is tossed around casually by native speakers online with random collocations. I'm perfectly happy to mark the term [net-sl] or [rare] even to dissuade its deliberate use.

But unless my understanding of the sense is just completely incorrect, an entry here would have been helpful for me, and would no doubt be helpful to others.

daijs has 17 senses, daijr 10, prog 11, gg5 8 but some are clearly idiomatic (e.g. 口を割る/腹を割る).

prog distinguishes 割り算をする and 分割する but gg5 doesn't. It's hard to say is this necessary or not.

I just split the existing glosses, but we should probably add more senses.

Got here from さっきぶり and 時間ぶり, which I intend to work on later.

The お is definitely not required here. As most apps do a prefix search (including jmdict), if you search for 久しぶり you won't even see the "long time no see" gloss without this.

GG5 simply says とのい means the same as しゅくちょく. Koj/Daijr have it with a heap of old meanings involving nobles, etc. supported by quotes from the 万葉集, etc. I think I'll leave to someone else.

"since [ateji] means "contains ateji", can we interpret [gikun] as "contains gikun"?"

in https://github.com/JMdictProject/JMdictIssues/issues/143#issuecomment-2398846443:
"we really only need to state in the documentation that the [gikun] tag only applies to all or part of the kanji in the term and not the inflecting part in kana"

while i would prefer a more advanced kanji [gikun] tag, i personally don't think it's problematic or confusing in situations like this (for example sankoku pretty much doesn't ever specify the gikun kanji) and seems to me more helpful to have than not

  Comments:
Strongly recommend splitting ちょう and はらわた. It seems like 腸 = ちょう = a medical term "intestines"

はらわた, probably [uk], seems like a more colloquial term for a person's innards, and is used metaphorically much like "guts" is used in English (as seen in the many はらわた expressions at eijiro).

sankoku gives *4* senses for はらわた, and exactly 1 for ちょう (消化器の... ie. person's intestines).

Encountered as an exclamation. Something like "don't waste your time trying to explain what you're doing here" in the midst of attacking.

Like this:

「どんな言い訳があるとしても、問答無用だ」 ─ I don’t care what excuse you may have. I don’t even want to hear about it.

I aligned with the (soon-to-be) xref, but it would be nice if a gloss could better capture this usage.

Multiple dictionaries (daijr/s, shinsen) have 点す as a valid form for sense 1, and the n-grams show that it does get some real usage.

The editorial policy for the [sK] tag is that it should be used for typos, mazegaki forms, obsolete forms not specified in any references, etc.
  Comments:
The 点す form is cross-referenced from the entry for 差す. I'm very fussy about not having hidden forms used in cross-references, so I think it's best if 点す isn't hidden here.

純粋な意味で「さっきぶり♪」だったら、Hi,again! Hi,what's up?ぐらいしかないと思います。

“さっきぶり” is kind of slang in. Japanese, haha.
It is like joking word cuz it sounds just like “short time no see” as it were. It is not formal but it makes sense especially in younger generation
  Comments:
[1] Should point at 久しぶり[2].

Seems apparent that the greeting is the more common usage, so [1] and [2] have flopped from 久しぶり.

In the (anime) context I saw it, the whole phrase さっきぶりだね could have been cleanly translated as "hello again"(the characters having met a few hours prior). The actual translator went with "we meet again".

I find very little support for 先ぶり with kanji.

I think "hi again" or "hello again" both work. "さっきぶりですね" is valid (with です), so there is some mixed formality here.

generally i find numbering (or the years served) very useful esp. to put their terms into context
but it's probably not needed for entries regarding american politicians
i still think it'd be best to have for japanese people and south korean people as 日韓 relations are often in the news
