daijs has 17 senses, daijr 10, prog 11, gg5 8 but some are clearly idiomatic (e.g. 口を割る/腹を割る).

prog distinguishes 割り算をする and 分割する but gg5 doesn't. It's hard to say is this necessary or not.

I just split the existing glosses, but we should probably add more senses.

in entry 不知火/1583560 an edit with the following comment:
"since [ateji] means "contains ateji", can we interpret [gikun] as "contains gikun"?"
was accepted

in https://github.com/JMdictProject/JMdictIssues/issues/143#issuecomment-2398846443:
"we really only need to state in the documentation that the [gikun] tag only applies to all or part of the kanji in the term and not the inflecting part in kana"

while i would prefer a more advanced kanji [gikun] tag, i personally don't think it's problematic or confusing in situations like this (for example sankoku pretty much doesn't ever specify the gikun kanji) and seems to me more helpful to have than not

If you search for "釣り上げる" or "釣り上げ" today in jmdict you won't find this entry, and I think you should.

Just encountered in professional subtitling in 3-way negotiation for an item.
まぁ、そんなわけで値段の釣り上げ交渉ってわけだ

This looks to be either intentional, or a super-common misspelling. MacOS and Android both give 釣り上げ as the first IME result, and metaphorically it's not surprising that Japanese natives might think this makes sense. (A Japanese eggcorn?)

I agree with the split from 9 years ago, sankoku has the same split. Not sure if/when a proper kokugo would ever bless this usage, but I think this is prevalent enough that it needs to be searchable. I'd usually [sK] a mere "spelling mistake", but this seems have gained a significant degree of acceptance in daily use.

First time trying to submit an edit so not sure if this change is correct. Basically, I noticed that the entire 「うまがあう」 reading is shown as furigana on Jisho.org (https://jisho.org/search/馬が合う). I believe this is because the katakana ウマ is not matching the hiragana うま. Because of this, I swapped the hiragana and katakana readings. Please feel free to correct if this is not the correct fix.

Kobiki-Uta (A Woodcutter's Song) is among the most popular and successful works by Koyama, written after a traditional woodcutter's work song heard in Kyushu, in western Japan. Kobiki-Uta was first written for symphony orchestra in 1957. Some years later, in 1970, Koyama transcribed the work for symphonic band.
  Comments:
See notes on daijs' き preference at 挽物.

This has both a literal meaning (daijs), and is also the title of a popular symphony piece, based on a specific 木挽歌, and these see to dominates the ngrams.

This entry could probably be deleted. There are a whole class of folk work songs we do not have (酒造り歌 is one I just found). Or we could add 酒造り歌. These are kind-of A+B.

Daijs has only 挽き物, so that explains that.

挽物 has it on the numbers though, there is no alternative 音読み(banbutsu does not exist), and wikipedia by article count prefers 挽物 3-to-1, and it's used in the woodworking articles.

Not in sankoku.

Both forms are completely legitimate, I wouldn't lose sleep over the ordering.

Though only the minority of entries keep the first and second sense seperate, I would argue to keep them seperated because the second sense implies that the beheaded one is a criminal, while that is not a given in the case of the first sense.
