no idea what to do with this one. as it's basically just used as a proper noun in the names of universities nowadays, "private school" is probably fine as a first estimate, at least in my mind (as per kanjigen). the problem is that british and american ideas of "public school" and "private school" are quite different.

the british notions make no sense to me. see for example here, where they define a "public school" as an "exclusive fee-paying private independent school":

For context, this was the whole conversation:
私は交易の途中に、この宿へ立ち寄ってねえ。
すっかり気に入ってしまって、ずいぶんな長居をしておる。
しかし、ついに迎えが来てしまったようだ……。
薄い布団、女房の小言、少ない小遣い、多すぎる税金……。
……いやだぁぁぁ! ウルダハに帰りたくなぁぁぁいッ!
……そういうことだ。
この「小さな封書」を、迎えの者に渡してくれ。
私はまだまだ、この宿を満喫してやるのだからな!

I have a questions regarding markings in the kokugos. I couldn't really find a sound source for this when looking for it.
How are ateji, gikun and jukujikun indicated in the headwords of the kokugo entries? Or at least in sankoku, smk and the likes.

Because e.g. for 木阿弥 I see it with red brackets () in sankoku, I see those quite often.
In smk it's like this 【木阿︿弥︽・〈杢阿〉弥︽】 (the arrows are above the kanji they come after).

Could anybody be so kind and explain the symbols here to me, and maybe some standard ones (if there are any and it's not totally individual to each of the kokugos)?

those massif.la examples use sense 1, so only [adj-na] for sense 2 still seems appropriate
iwakoku (which only has sense 1) and smk both have sense 1 as やや古風, sankoku only has sense 2 (with a =意外 note)
my interpretation is that sense 1 is the original meaning but is now considered dated so in my head it made sense to move the non-dated sense up
but it's true that they are the minority of refs and we'd generally need more evidence

  Comments:
I mentioned those refs in my previous comment and explained why I chose to keep the tag.
The irregular tag does not mean that instances of a form cannot be found in real use. If an irregular form wasn't used by anyone, we wouldn't include it.

GG5 gives Subspace.
Daijs and Pixiv point to the absence of the laws of physics.
Eijiro also gives Subspace and Hyperspace as 類語

This was brought up in a jisho forum post. I think having both "hyperspace" and "subspace" is a bit confusing. I get that it's hard to gloss science fiction terms though.

References were given in the original submission. The unabridged version of nikk contained a lot more entries than the abrigded version on kotobank today. That said, the current policy is to not include archaic readings or words if they only appear in nikk.

Shouldn't this be merged with けつあな? Or should しりあな move to the けつあな entry?

I count 11 Jp tweets past 24hrs vs 13 for 豆鼓. But maybe the fact all manufacturers seem to use 豆豉醤 on labels, is evidence this order is better?
