Our entry for 弾丸・だんがん has the same meaning as this sense 05. I don't think it's worth mentioning in here in a note. These sorts of oddball gikun readings are a standard and flexible feature of Japanese. |

| Comments: | I have a questions regarding markings in the kokugos. I couldn't really find a sound source for this when looking for it. How are ateji, gikun and jukujikun indicated in the headwords of the kokugo entries? Or at least in sankoku, smk and the likes. Because e.g. for 木阿弥 I see it with red brackets () in sankoku, I see those quite often. In smk it's like this 【木阿︿弥︽・〈杢阿〉弥︽】 (the arrows are above the kanji they come after). Could anybody be so kind and explain the symbols here to me, and maybe some standard ones (if there are any and it's not totally individual to each of the kokugos)? |

Kobiki-Uta was first written for symphony orchestra in 1957. Some years later, in 1970, Koyama transcribed the work for symphonic band. |

| Comments: | See notes on daijs' き preference at 挽物. This has both a literal meaning (daijs), and is also the title of a popular symphony piece, based on a specific 木挽歌, and these see to dominates the ngrams. This entry could probably be deleted. There are a whole class of folk work songs we do not have (酒造り歌 is one I just found). Or we could add 酒造り歌. These are kind-of A+B. |

| Comments: | Note seems good. I feel like if -がる verb entries should be handled like this in general (which I think they should), there's hardly any way around a note. Making the standard approach to adjust the glosses in a way they (somewhat) allude to the fact -がる can't be used on yourself is rather vague in my opinion. Adding a clear cut note seems to be comprehensible to everyone alike. |

| Comments: | >The がる suffix can mean things other than appearing/seeming. What other things? MK says …という気持ちや様子を外に見せる意を表す。 In GG5's example sentences it's obvious who is doing the 懐かしがる. So of course they don't include words like "seemed to" or "appeared to" in sentences like "My grandmother would often remember the village that was submerged when the dam was built and weep tears." But a non-native Japanese speaker using GG5 might, just like somebody using this entry, very well miss that you can't really use this to refer to yourself. I think "to show nostalgia (for)" is a good starter but I think at the very least one more of the glosses should demonstrate clearly that this is not used for yourself. |
