While I can understand the Japanese OK, I think it's useful for people looking for the appropriate Japanese for the equivalent phrase in English, or to check if they've constructed something that's actually used in Japanese (as this expression clearly is). Daijt and wiktionary give おいぬ as the reading for the kanji versions, GG5 doesn't give a reading.

Read 牡犬 in a book. オス犬 seemed to be the most common spelling of this term when I searched a bit.
I couldn't find any other dictionary entries, maybe because it is just a compound?
How would this be handled?

I'm comfortable with this entry, but we may as well have 日ぐらし[sK] in the other one too.

my problem with duplicating the kanji forms is that it makes search slightly less immediate
"日ぐらし" search-only form is here and not in the other entry, but results on google are mostly related to the 一日中 sense
we obviously could have "日ぐらし" in both the entries, but only having it in the 一日中 sense entry seems less confusing to me

Daijs and nikk combine the two meanings into entry.
With two entries like this, I think it's better to duplicate the kanji form(s) rather than the sense.

smk does say that ついたち can be used adverbially
一日/いっぴ is only used for sense 1, esp. in a business context (sankoku example, meikyo, shinkoku)
朔日/さくじつ is only used for sense 1, daijr, kanken, iwakoku specify 陰暦 (daijrs also kinda implies this by saying "朔月。「卯月朔日」") but not for ついたち - i also suspect it's more dated/formal as most refs redirect to ついたち and shinkoku tags it as 文
even if the archaic second sense is removed, it feels to me that splitting out the readings would make for better and more complete entries

i believe sentence #209505 was actually meant for １日/いちにち instead of this entry, but the reading or entry id wasn't specified
the audio link in wwwjdic contains "kana=ついたち&kanji=１日" which means it was probably meant for ついたち so if my proposal is accepted ついたち should remain in this 2311109 entry
