The text-glosser lawys had a problem with handling ます-stems. Early in the process they are picked up by the verb deconjugate function, and that was preempting entries which were already in that form. I now populate the glossing dictionary with composed ます-stems of all verbs, but I didn't twig that the deconjugater got in first. I have just made sure that if the ます-stem exist as an entry, the normal verb handling is disabled. I think it's now giving the result Hendrik wants.

I agree it's quite compositional, as is 何軒か.
It does get over one hurdle I apply in that WWWJDIC's Text Glossing function would not handle it too well. As terms like this get removed I add them to a special glossing file, but down the track we perhaps should have a "B team" category of entries which are obvious but useful.
Others possibly for the chop: 何日か, 何度か, 何人か, 何者か(?), 何回か, but NOT 何時か or 何故か

Yes, I agree that it should not be an entry.

I don't see the need for it. 微かな笑み actually has just been deleted. I'm comfortable keeping そよ風 - it's in the major dictionaries, and it helps the text glossing.
BTW, for かすかなそよ風 the text glossing gives:

This expression has cropped up several times in the text which I was reading. It does not get a large number of hits as the full combination, but because it is a combination of two descriptive expressions which basically mean the same and are both individually on your site, I wondered if you may consider promotion in order add certainty of usage to the searcher.
