| 4. | A* 2012-05-24 11:59:16 Marcus | |
| Comments: | OK, I should probably have checked around a bit further (concerning kids etc.). That said, this is in the jawiki article on 結婚 I linked to: "結婚することを一般的に「籍を入れる」と言ったり、特にマスコミなどでは「入籍」と 表現する場合があるが、この意味での「入籍」は、戸籍法上の「入籍」とは意味が 異なる。一般に言われる「籍を入れる」・「入籍」は、単に「婚姻届を提出すること で、男女が同じ籍になる」という意味である(出典:広辞苑)。" So maybe "getting married" should be a 2nd [col]-tagged sense instead? |

|
| Comments: | 籍を入れる feels a bit odd. GG5 has one example with it, and a couple with 籍に入れる. There are plenty of Google hits for both. The 中辞典 example above doesn't mention spouses. I can see examples of 籍に入れる being used for children, e.g.: 欽也は尾道へ戻ってきて、赤ちゃんが生まれる前に結婚し、赤ちゃんを自分の籍に入れると説明しました。(Blog above). I suspect your qualification is not really appropriate. I also think if this one stays, we should have 籍に入れる too. (I see ルミナス has: 彼女はまだ籍が入っていない. You have quite a choice of particles.) |

| Comments: | NASA is a bit of a red herring. The Japanese say ジス for JIS and ジャスダック for JASDAQ. I think what we're seeing here is a sort of 義訓. People see TV and think テレビ, but like Rene I think it's too much to call テレビ a reading. I can accept 田舎 being read いなか, and (worse) 啄木鳥 being read けら, but merging テレビ into TV/ティーブイ it's a step too far. How about a two-way xref with notes? I'll set one up here, and it can be used with OP if accepted. |

| Comments: | Abbreviations aren't always read exactly as they're written. Consider "etc." - if we used this spelling as a headword, wouldn't it make sense to add エトセトラ as a reading? daijr actually does エトセトラ【et cetera】 以下に列挙すべき語を省略する場合に用いる。…等々。…など。その他 いろいろ。 〔etc.; &c. とも書く〕 _ "NASA" is never read as "N, A, S, A" but always as "Nasa". If it's the way it's read, I'd say yes. _ Merging is maybe a little extreme since no other dictionary does this, I don't know, but I think there's at least a case for adding a note. |
