Refs: | https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/右衛門 >> 右衛門(うえもん)は、日本語の男性名。 We don't have a [name affix] tag. The "references to the ritsuryō system" in jmdict are necessary to explain the meanings of words. We rarely include etymological notes. |

Comments: | I think this entry should be changed from Uemon to -uemon and the tag changed from [given] to [name affix] - see the first reference. Althought JEDIC is not an encyclopedia, I notice that the database contains plenty references to the ritsuryō system. This is (IMHO) useful "encyclopedic" information, and a short comment like "derived from the ritsuryō system" would seem useful for -uemon, as well. The 2nd and 3rd reference are some illustrative examples that reach into the present: the tea brands "Iyemon" (Santori) and "Itokyuemon". |

Comments: | Due to technological restraints, we can't use cross references in the name dictionary (jmnedict). We also don't add etymological notes to name entries. |
