OK. I've added [spec1] to about 100 ~大学 entries. Some were probably ones where we'd removed them, but I wasn't going to check them "by hand".
I'll leave this open for a bit.

I can't find the file from that 2021 update. It's a bit hard to identify the ~大学 cases without [spec1]. I've done quite a few by hand.

I think specifying it's a typhoon or cyclone 
name is making it messier than it has to be. I 
think it's better to just offer the correct 
katakana for the name without further details. 
People are unlikely to come across this/try 
and look it up without realizing what it's 
about from the context it appears in. (I saw 
this as "台風第ｘ号（チャンスー）..." in a news 
article, for example)

AFAICT チャンスー is only used for naming tropical cyclones. It could be switched back to the generic "unclass" and the note expanded to "used to name tropical cyclones", but isn't that making a mess of something that's fairly clear?
