Comments: | Marcus recently amended both entries and dropped the tags in ありがとう but not コーヒー, so I was just wondering if there was a reason for that difference. Sorry if I sound annoyed; I need to update my dictionary build scripts to handle this sort of setup, and I don't understand the point of it all if the same information is already provided by the [uk] tag. But it sounds like that ship has sailed, so I'll stop griping. |

Comments: | Sorry if my response was unclear. I think it's fine to drop the tags from the kanji fields in these uk entries. |

Comments: | Changing the entry to match せる・させる as it had the same problems as the previous version of that entry. Unrelated to the above, also changed the note on [2] as it is incorrect;られる is still used as the potential for 来る as こられる and as the potential for certain サ変 where the verb is made from one kanji + する and thus できる does not apply. This includes verbs such as 決する→決せられる and the ザ変 感ずる→感ぜられる. Hence, in modern Japanese, use as the potential of 五段 is the only case where it can be said to have truly fallen into complete disuse. |

Comments: | What about dropping 接続 notes entirely? They belong to grammars instead of dictionaries. Also, the kana-based traditional analysis is unnecessarily complicated. The term 未然形/imperfective form is ambiguous in case of godan and sahen verbs while the term "-nai stem" incorrectly selects the し form of sahen instead of さ required by れる. I would prefer phonological analyses like "godan -u → -areru (-wareru after vowel), ichidan -ru → -rareru, kuru → korareru, suru → sareru", but that's already in the conjugation tables |

Comments: | Meaning [2] which can be found in 吊り上がる is missing for this kanji variant. 釣り上がる and 吊り上がる are the same word so I added them in the kanji field (see also the edit for 吊り上がる where I also added the different forms). It was not entirely clear in which order they should go but I did so it would match the entry, which means it won't be the same order for both. |

Comments: | It doesn't seem to specifically need to be incurable (which is the current entry). Also the part where all definitions say that it's due to having done bad things in a previous life is completely missing in the current definition (maybe put it in brackets). You may contract this definition but I fail to see how a single English word could do that. |

Comments: | Out of the 15 most common terms starting with もう無理, 10 include either the copula or an inflection of it (those with an *) and the remaining 5 are a result of copula omission. I do not see how adding the copula would be overly compositional, it is 1-2 added characters. Now, apologies for the lack of the percentage values, I do not know how to display them if there is a setting to do so, and was wary of calculating them manually as I do not know how the N-gram parses the results. For example: are もう無理's 237578 results not including substrings pulled from もう無理だ and the others? If so, should 237578 not be treated as 100% with the 71953 of もう無理だ and もう無理です accounting for ~30.3% of the total rather than ~23.2%? Whichever the case, N-gram count of もう無理 in a vacuum might not be the best compass, as I imagine it will draw a substantial number of results from phrases that are not the set expression from もう無理だ. |

Comments: | The usual abbreviation for 山口大学 is 山大. I don't think this is needed. It's just the full name minus 学. Any university name can be abbreviated like this. We have a "university" sense for 大. |
