Comments: | Leading note: Image results for the unadorned 窓側 are all airplanes. I was actually looking for "middle seat", which isn't yet here, and it was the inconsistency between 窓側席(window seat) and 通路側(aisle seat) that caught my eye before noticing that 窓側 was also already in here. As in English, it seems like "you want the window or the aisle" works similarly to 通路側か、窓側か。 "Seat" is optional but otherwise implied. 窓側 is indeed "window-side". You could use it at a table for a restaurant, it seems. But unlike, say, 真ん中・真ん中の席・真ん中席 (middle seat), the airplane usage seems eminently common compared to other uses. |

|
Comments: | Also added to 癇癪. I'd like to squeeze "temper tantrum" in here, and the mix of "throw"/"have" in this expression is one chance to do that. (Could xref to 癇癪 with extra glosses too). sankoku's definition is literally 腹を立てる. That seems a bit lacking in nuance. *news* results are all articles about parenting and children. Searching wikipedia does see this used as adult males becoming violent (towards wives, etc.). |

Comments: | more notes on 窓側. Noticed an inconsistency between this and 通路側 (where 席 is omitted). I don't think "窓側の席" needs to be an entry in this dictionary (though in the E->J direction, it would surely be useful). I've often remarked on an aversion to uncommon terms in this dictionary masking appropriate "obvious" terms that should probably be used instead. I've added a note as an on-the-fly suggestion as to how this might be handled in a win-win kind of way. No extra entry with piles of xrefs between them, and the term is discoverable in both directions. Note: we are missing the corresponding 通路側席 / 通路側の席. These should ideally end up consistent with each other. I can do it, but I want to see what's done here first. |

Comments: | Hendrik has got back to me with more info. This reference is for a company that makes "yosenki". I think it's safe to include. Certainly rare. I'm putting 揚船/あげふね into another entry as it's not a valid merge. |

Comments: | This has been hanging around for a while. The term is obviously quite rare. I have problems with both the reading and the actual meaning. The Nikkoku (Kotobank) reference is for the old あげふね term meaning "ship pulled up on a beach/stranded ship". The Marina example is a bit better but no reading. I cannot find any reference associating 揚船 with ようせん. I've suggested some changes, but I suspect this is struggling to justify inclusion. |
