I *think* this was a copy/paste oversight with the wrong kanji, as 山寨 is the kanji used in the original references from 2021.

山寨 for "counterfeit goods" is clearly proportionally more common today than it was when the google n-gram corpus was built in 2009.  I was tempted to suggest that the forms should be re-ordered, but it's quite hard to tease out relative statistics when so many Chinese results are mixed in with google search results. Probably not critical either way.
