Comments: | I was trying to bring this pair (戦略、早々) in line with the other correspondence pair (拝啓、敬具) which are currently and I think beneficially linked. So if it’s not an improvement for the brief letter, why is it an improvement that adds value for the formal letter? As in the case of 拝啓 & 敬具, 前略 & 早々 are always paired in an appropriately but quickly written letter. |

Comments: | I think a clearer meaning or two would be helpful here. i understand how it could be translated as "removing one's hat" -- although I've certainly seen that conveyed much more frequently as "taking one's hat off to (someone/something)". "removing one's hat" sounds too literal to me, and could be confusing to someone who doesn't know the phrase. But in the spirit of the example sentence, a helpful additional meaning (particularly for those not familiar with the phrase "to take one's hat off to") might be something like "expressing admiration/respect for". |
