OK, maybe you're right. "hungry" does look weird to me, still, but...

I think it's best to think of おなかがぺこぺこ/腹がぺこぺこ as set phrases. ぺこぺこ always refers to hunger. I don't think "empty" would be a helpful translation here.

I did mean "hungry", because the subject is usually (always?) お腹 - お腹がペコペコ. You don't say your stomach is hungry. 
"empty (of stomach)"?

I too am rather dubious about the さかずきs spattered around kanjidic. I'd not use them in JMdict unless a good 国語 had them.

i don't trust kanjidic as a source without corroboration; it seems circular.  my kanwas have さかつぼ as the reading for 鍾, not さかずき.  ref?

Note: in other cases I've seen this used, it seems to work kind of like やつ, which I see we mark similarly as "familiar or derogatory".

Is this really [derog]?

The glosses give the strong impression that this term is limited to small groups of people, but that doesn't seem to be the case. My current show is using it regularly for towns, and even entire countries of people.

The number one reverso gloss is "people". This is cambridge's gloss (along with folks). 

I agree with "guys", but I think "these guys" "those guys", and other formulations could work.  And I think the "those" is likely to appear explicitly when appropriate, such as:

With regards to larger groups of people:

There's nothing even mildly derogatory about the way I'm currently seeing it.  sankoku says なかまの人々. [軽く見て言うことが多い].  Maybe it's derogatory in some contexts though, I couldn't say.

I agree with Rene; this isn't really needed now.

I've run across this phrase with the more literal meaning "to lean in close to" -- combining 身 plus 寄せる's meaning ”to come near, to let someone approach.  So I think that it could be another [v1] meaning.  But after reading the instructions, I'm still not quite sure of the proper format to add it above, since it's a new sense for the verb.  So I'll leave it to you to insert it if you think it's appropriate to add it.

i'm not sure about that.  koj puts the 内もも in sense 1, which makes more sense to me

I think the 内もも in sense 2 of both those refs is being used as a metaphor for the sexual activity, and shouldn't be the basis of a translation.
