I don't think that's adjectival - I don't think it's different from say
一個のリンゴ	1187
リンゴの一個	No matches
I don't think 一個 is adjectival either.

My preference would be for "one" over "a" for these, also. e.g. "one line" rather than "a line"

was working on this one when previous submission was approved. senses could be split umpteen different ways. i think it makes sense to do it like this
-armpit gets merged into 'side' (although gg5 separates by kanji, there's absolutely no evidence for this in kokugo dictionaries) and 'side/aside' get split
-'backburner' gets absorbed by "to the side" (e.g., "let's put the matter to the side for the moment)

I don't think it's correct to say there are two senses here.
"Slander", "libel", etc. are for the benefit of English learners who might be using そしり in more specific context.

I'm in favour of dropping the sense 2 glosses entirely.
I have a paper JE dictionary (designed for English speakers) on hand and "criticism", "censure" and "blame" are the only glosses listed. Same with prog.

As per earlier note, v. common in kyōgen as 念無う早かった (ねんのうはやかった) “Unexpectedly fast” after the master summons a servant. (Both daijr and koj give this example)

This seems to be a pretty archaic phrase; I found it in the even more archaic form 念無う(ねんのう) in the 狂言「しびり」、 where it is used to mean “unexpectedly”, though the phrase seems to have other uses.

I’m also not sure on the best part of speech (I think it’s the same as other 〜し modifiers); the 国語字引 give it as 形ク and the phrase I saw it in was 念無う早かった (太郎冠者 responds unexpectedly quickly to 主人).
