ムールがい
1. [n]
《from French "moule"》
▶ (edible) mussel (esp. the Mediterranean mussel or blue mussel)

History:

  Comments:
The kokugos define this as "ムラサキイガイの別名" but ムール貝 is used to refer to a number of different species. "blue/common mussel", which is several of the JEs, is Mytilus edulis, but the most commonly sold ムール貝 in Japan is the Mediterranean mussel (Mytilus galloprovincialis).
lsrc tag not appropriate here as "貝" doesn't come from French.
I don't think "moule" is used in English.

I don't have any concrete references, but I know from personal experience that this term is used in Japanese weddings (e.g. it's written on the programmes) to indicate the beginning of the reception, just after the bride and groom have entered the banquet room/hall and taken their seats at the head table, but before they make their welcome speech to the guests. It usually appears in the phrase 開宴の言葉, and is spoken by the MC.

this entry is ベーだ. the other entry is べーだ
ベーだ
べーだ

i don't see a difference, but there must be a difference in the dash or something. they aren't being recognized as the same. i changed this entry so the dash is the same one produced by my ime (which is the dash in the other entry, not this one)

i'm merging the other entry in here and reopening

I don't think we need katakana "be"+hiragana "e", super marginal and makes the entry more confusing than it already is with two
