afaict, this isn't an actual "entry" in gg5 (nor in any other dictionary i have access to)

i think at some point in time a few years back in the heyday of Jim-Paul-Rene, there was a "guideline" suggested that expressions shouldn't start with a particle unless there's strong support for including the entry from kokugo dictionaries, gg5, etc.  in this case, it would get cut to 逆, and i think that entry suffices

I agree with Rene. If there was good evidence for the "on hand; have available" figurative use, it could be justified as something idiomatic, but as it stands it's no more than the sum of the parts. GG5 doesn't have examples of on hand; have available".

i'm inclined to reject both versions.  not a proper headword in gg5 (or even eijiro.  gg5 gives it the same status as はしを持つほうの手="the hand that holds the chopsticks") and is obvious from the sum of its parts, so it can't really be argued to be idiomatic
