  Comments:
Is a change needed? We already have an entry for "傅 [めのと] /(n) (arch) instructor/tutor (to a prince)/". It can't be merged with this one (fails 2/3 rule.)
If you look closely at the 大辞泉 entry, it has restrictions on the two senses that force it to be two entries by our rules.
4. A* 2013-01-14 21:16:31  Marcus Richert <...address hidden...>
  Comments:
daijs gives "傅" as an additional kanji for めのと, but for めの
と alone, which means the other 8 readings would have to come
with restrictions. Maybe too messy? Maybe either split out めの
と, or remove a couple of the probably archaic and a little
superfluous readings?

  Comments:
Daijs is the only ref that refers to a literal smell (and even then, it's "人間の体臭*のような*におい"). If we want a second sense, "smelling like a human" probably isn't an appropriate gloss.

3.2% is low as a percent, but 50,000 n-grams is not rare. I think [uK] covers this? The wikipedia page is full of the kanji form

Twitter frequency can be measured in posts-per-hour (not rare)
https://twitter.com/search?q=叉焼&src=typed_query&f=live

I'm guessing that most Japanese adults probably have little problem reading this. I would usually interpret [rK] as a very rare kanji form with a more-common popular kanji form, or a form where kanji almost never appear. (ie. knowing the kanji form verges on useless, which seems not to be the case here).
