FWIW, currently the [S]anseido link for this entry doesn't 'work' since its dictionaries only have the word listed in kana; you need to manually search for ほう to find the correct page.

Doubt it matters but thought I'd mention.

see rejected amendments to 方がいい and した方がいい. some may indeed be uk, but it's borderline and tough to show. in those two cases specifically, ngrams don't support it. of course it's virtually impossible to check for 方 vs ほう using a google search

  Comments:
From a prescriptive point of view, some of these glosses should be [uk], but descriptively, I'm not sure.

Notwithstanding the fact that "deposition" is in GG5's definition of 預託, I don't think it's helpful to use that word.

Although the OED does have, in its entry for "deposition", one sense relating to the depositing of money or valuables,* the most recent usage example in OED for that sense is dated 1817.

* OED: depositon
[...]
(7) 7. The placing of something in a repository, or in charge of a person, for safe keeping; concr. a deposit.
1817 T. R. Malthus Ess. Princ. Population (ed. 5) III. vi. vii. 279 Every fresh deposition [in a savings bank].
[There are also two older examples, dated 1592 and 1651.]

Then I think we should revert to the 実際にあった form. These glosses only work for prenominal usage.

Tanaka: それは実際にあった事だ。 That is an actual fact.
Plenty of GG5 examples, e.g. この小説は実際にあった誘拐事件がモデルになっている. This novel is based on a real-life kidnapping case.
  Comments:
I think it's one of those expressions that's easy to decode, but it's handy to check for its validity when wanting to use it. I think it's worth keeping.

Tanaka sentence: アーノルドは物を実際にあるがままに見よと教える。 Arnold teaches us to see the object as it really is.
  Comments:
I don't think we need this entry. It isn't always prenominal.
It could be glossed as "to actually exist" but I feel it's kind of obvious.
