Comments: | i think there's something to be said for at least splitting by PoS (according to daijr, gg5, meikyo and koj, the [fem] tag is deserved for the [int] sense), although the japanese PoS don't necessarily match up with their best english translations |

Comments: | * Add [exp] (explanatory) translations, which *really* clarify things for me. I heard this used in the “intending to persuade and instead being persuaded oneself” sense (which as per 広辞苑 is the current sense). The figurative translations are idiomatic in English (indicate a similar reversal), but have completely different meanings (e.g., “going for wool” means “seeking to get rich, but ending up losing money”), unrelated to the *persuasion* sense (I don’t know a good English idiom for this sense). |
