Comments: | I saw this entry and wondered what "rambuctious" means so I looked it up at dictionary.com, thefreedictionary.com and in my English-Swedish dictionary and couldn't find the word anywhere but the word "rambunctious" was suggested for me instead. I did not know what the word "rambunctious" meant either but it seems to fit the other descriptions of 暴れん坊 pretty well so I assume rambuctious is a typo for rambunctious. |

|
Comments: | I think this only means "moment" or" instant" in the negated idiomatic xref. Certainly there seems to be some time elapsing in all of the kokugo explanations, so "instant" seems especially suspect. The glosses I've suggested look quite off to me without the articles("a"). I see they were dropped in 2011, but I think this term acts as an expression. For example, I don't think 片時 can be pluralized as "several short whiles". Also of note. daijs translates 片時 as しばらくの間, but 片時の間 also exists. We gloss both しばらく and しばらくの間 similarly, but I'm not sure if 片時 here is an adverb. Our entries: 暫く・しばらく for a moment; for a minute for a while; for some time しばらくの間 for a short while; for a while; for some time; for the time being |

Comments: | I have personally heard somebody say this to someone in an exasperated voice (the way they were delivered, I'd call them fighting words (I did say he muttered them in my last comment but that wasn't really it)) but it does seem like that's not the most typical usage. But I guess "your mother would be ashamed" was wrong, because really it's a (pretty grave) insult directed towards the parents, not the child. The current glosses don't really convey the 悪意, though. Maybe we ought to make it something more akin to "what parents would bring up a kid like this"? |

Comments: | the wikipedia xref is "Companion Planting", but I think the current gloss is correct(except maybe pluralization). I guess it takes two plants to be companions of each other, so maybe the plural is justified. the xref into here (随伴植物) is already plural. |

Comments: | Yes, it's common, and it's used a lot in WWW pages when referring to such accommodation. Also written 榮荘, I see. My concern is that it may (just) be a common "brand" name for such lodges. I've stayed in plenty of 民宿 and 旅館 called 何々荘. |
