Comments: | I'm just trying to make sense 2 coherent In my understanding, there are always three people involved: A, B, and C A is trying to contact (or visit) C through whatever means, but instead only gets hold of B. It falls on B to convey this information to C. Therefore, B acts as an intermediary between A and C.
