Comments: | Newer editions of daijr has the above sense. I note that GG5 is the only JE with "〔直ちに〕 immediately; straightaway". Daijr and daijs mark this sense as archaic. The smaller kokugos don't have it. I suggest replacing "immediately" and "straightaway" with glosses that correspond to daijr and meikyo's second sense. I don't think "abruptly; rapidly; quickly" are quite right. |
