Comments: | "isolated word" is not in any of the refs except eijiro. If it's referring to isolated words in the context of word recognition, that's always 孤立単語. A Google search for "isolated language" brings up a whole bunch of results which have nothing to do with isolating languages. |

Comments: | I copied the "[adv-to] [on-mim]" from another onomatopoeic term, so I hope that's right. Here's one page where ボキボキ is referenced: http://dictionary.goo.ne.jp/leaf/je2/82698/m0u/ぼき/ . ボキボキ seems to be frequently used with 鳴らす, as in "握り拳をボキボキ鳴らす", but I don't know if it's worth a separate entry. |
