Comments: | I guess I have come round to the view that it's really (just) the honorific form of 立てる and if it seemed a bit idiomatic it was due to the fuzziness of 立てる itself. I have checked and we only have a couple of おxxxxになる entries none of which are from regular verbs. I propose to reject this one. |
|
7. | A* 2011-01-31 07:26:43 Rene Malenfant <...address hidden...>
Comments: | depends if it's thought to be more idiomatic than any other form, i guess. it's a construction that applies to pretty much any verb, and i'm not sure if this one is more special than any other. お-masu_stem+になる could be a candidate for easy addition to wwwjdic's verb conjugation chart. |
|
6. | A* 2011-01-29 01:22:25 Jim Breen <...address hidden...>
Comments: | AFAICT it means: "to raise up", "to establish", etc. Yes, it's a regular お+stem+になる formation, but since the meaning is not really clear, we should add it. |
|
5. | A* 2011-01-28 14:20:56 Rene Malenfant <...address hidden...>
Comments: | i just googled for "お立てになる" "your". i still don't see any instances where i would translate this as that |

Comments: | I don't have my main dictionaries with me, but if one searches on Google for the submission plus "your", as per your suggestion once before, one can find many clues. In addition, your [A] link also supports this |

Comments: | Initially i thought that 有地 by itself would be a useful entry, since it occurs as suffix in a variety of contexts, but then i realized that it is not really a headword but a combination of the suffix 有 (that belongs to whatever it is preceded by) and the denominator 地 that can be replaced by some other term. That's why we can't roll expressions of the form 何々有地 (such as 国有 地, 共有地, 公有地, 市有地, 私有地) into one entry... |
