Yes, I saw it being used for observing maiko too. I think it's broader than just a ticket to something. |

I don't think "appreciation fee" works at all. If that's on Reverso it's a good reminder to take the translations on there with a pinch of salt. I don't like "observation fee" either - it's too literal, and googling it I just get Japanese pages.
I came across the word in reference to maiko dance shows, but most hits are for movie theaters. In those cases, "ticket price" would obviously be the best translation, so I think it should stay. |
