I do understand what you mean but what I'm saying is that it doesn't really have to be read that way. A+ and A++ are different from SS and SSS as we actually have SS and SSS entries - that point here.

What I mean is that "SABCDEF" doesn't include "SS" or "SSS", so "S" can't be anything other than the top rank on that scale.
I don't think this is any different from describing "A" as the top grade even though A+ or A++ may exist.
