I saw that but I don't think it's necessarily true (see the examples above).

daijirin: 情にひかされて自分の考えにない行動をとる。

just pointing out that the kokugos all mention 行動をとる, i.e. there is always an action that follows, and this is missing from the glosses
right now it sounds like the speaker is paralyzed (unable to act) while the opposite is the case
