Seems common usage of 挟む/はさむ. Eijiro has:
道路を挟んだ向かいに住んでいる : live across the street from my house
壁を挟んだ : cross-border
I've suggested adding the "to be across" sense to 挟む, and perhaps that's enough.

I'm not confident about the part of speech for this one. It's used as an adjective: "廊下を挟んだ隣の部屋には...", "男女別の浴場の廊下をはさんだ反対側" and it seems to be more common in that past-tense adjectival form than the regular verb form -- 廊下を挟む -- although that exists also. So I may be completely wrong, and it should be entered as 廊下を挟む instead, although I'm not sure what the proper meaning would be for that... "to be across a hall", "to be separated by a hallway"...?
