it's a split i'm uncertain about, because the english "place" works well in both cases. (e.g. "there is no place for that kind of person in this company") tentatively accepting

daijr/daijs don't list this, but I think the difference between 居場所 as just "a place" or "where someone happens to be located right now" vs. "where one belongs" is enough to justify a second sense.
