<upd_detl>i'm mostly fine with it.  google image hits for 山火事 generally seem to show wildfires in mountainous areas (although these areas are more likely to be just wild areas in general).  it should perhaps be softened</upd_detl>

<upd_detl>I remember my teachers saying that bushfires were 山火事 even if there wasn't actually a 山 
nearby.</upd_detl>

<upd_detl>I wouldn't lead with bushfire as it's mainly an Aus/NZ term. GG5 and most other JEs just 
have "forest fire" without any mountain qualification. I guess in the Japanese context 
forest fires are usually in mountain areas because that's where the forests are.
I'll reopen it if anyone wants to discuss it further.</upd_detl>
