kokugos define with 気後れ:
losing one's nerve; feeling awkward; feeling timid; feeling hesitant; feeling nervous; feeling diffident; being daunted​

or 臆したようす: feeling hesitant or timid

That said, this appears to be almost non-existent outside of the larger negated expression.  Google "臆面" and  臆面もない comes back.  Dictionary entries for 臆面 invariably give 臆面もない・なく as the example.(sankoku gives なく）。</upd_detl>
