<upd_detl>"Affricate" is a much more common term. Going by result counts from quoted Google searches (not the greatest method, I know) I got &lt;25'000 for "affricative" and &gt;300'000 for "affricate", so maybe affricative could even be removed as a definition.</upd_detl>
