<upd_detl>The expression was in the text which I was reading and the above meaning, as given (by me), fits the context. Plus, the individual parts support the concept.

Your [A] link gives a group of good examples and Google search tops up to near 40m hits. It seems to be used without kanji so I have not artificially put in the obvious kanji.

I have made this submission because in your response to my submission on the back of "事になる" you stated "ことになりかねない is probably worth an entry."</upd_detl>

<upd_detl>A bit idiomatic, I think. 89k in the ngrams. Kanji form gets about 15% so worth having. 事に為りかねない and 事になりかね無い get low ngram hits.</upd_detl>

<upd_detl>Should this really be an entry? The glosses imply that it's a complete sentence when in fact the 事 is a nominaliser.
I think it's enough just to have entries for ことになる and かねない.</upd_detl>

<upd_detl>As I commented years ago, I think it's worth having - 100k n-grams and slightly idiomatic.
The glosses probably need a tweak and some context added. There are 3 sentences using this
pattern, currently not indexed. Note could be improved.</upd_detl>

Not necessarily at the end of a sentence.</upd_detl>
