Proposed English name “Japanese long-rooted pickling turnip” (based on suggestions at English reference) makes definition v. clear (these are a Japanese variety of long turnips, primarily used for pickling).
Notably, usually hiragana (though kanji not uncommon), but very rarely katakana.</upd_detl>
