Well, it's sense 5 of GG5's 紐/ひも entry. All the references only have examples in kana for their 紐 entries.

I don't doubt the etymology for the "small intenstine" sense probably is 紐, but I don't think that sense is ever written as 紐. I don't 
think it should be merged in here unless there's evidence it is.

Hendrik, I suggest you try the alternative text glossing technique at https://www.edrdg.org/cgi-bin/wwwjdic/wwwjdic?9T  It gets the correct ひも. I've never completely debugged that version, but generally it works better for kana words.  I don't want to knock 紐 off the term. It's the correct kanji, even if it usually in kana.

1. Observation. When using Text Glossing for ひもの結び目 we get the following (wrong) result:
    ひも (n) (food) small intestine (beef, pork); oviduct meat (chicken); KD
    結び目 【むすびめ】 (n) knot; ED

2. Editing suggestion. How about making hiragana the default for this entry, moving the kanji into a "comment" position, and subsuming the food related entry like the gigolo entry? Reasoning: since the kanji 紐 is not among the commonly used kanji, most people don't use it but write ひも, which triggers only the food related entry in the dictionary. (Generalising from this one case: homophonic words for which people commonly don't use kanji and whose meaning can therefore only be distinguished based on context should be grouped together for Text Glossing...)
