I think this is cleaner. Dropping ハクチョウ wouldn't be consistent with our usual style for animal entries. Daijr and smk have the "white bird" sense for はくちょう.

For aesthetic reasons, I'd support splitting out しらとり/しろとり. I'm not fond of this sort of merge when there are [nokanji] readings. I don't think "cygnet" is needed as a gloss. We don't have "puppy" for 犬.
