Indeed. It was a design decision back when the only app was the old DOS "JDIC". It calls for a clean solution, and at present we'd have to make it another sense, which is messy.

I know it's a big task, but for general future dictionary development I think it would be useful if all "vs" entries were given their own definitions. For example, it's hard to know if this means "to infect" or "to be infected". Often with the "vs" entries one is left guessing a bit, especially about transitivity and "direction"...
