I think the proposed sense 4 is just the potential form of 弾く/ひく, which is to play an instrument with strings. I don't think it's appropriate to mix up entries like this. I'll leave this here for a bit if anyone wants to comment.

The closest I see for this sense in daijr/s is "勢いよく飛び散る".
