Daijisen: 武士が自分の言動に偽りのないことを、諏訪明神と八幡神の2柱にかけて誓うときにいう言葉。
Dajirin: 〔武士が誓いの言葉として言う語〕絶対に偽らない、という意。諏訪八幡も御知見あれ。
  Comments:
A bit complicated since the "Suwa" are seemingly two deities, but only one of them is a god of war, namely Takeminakata.
That's why I added the second gloss and the third xref.

I suppose [hist] is appropriate here
