In reponse to your question, sorry! I was really trying to search for "おっかけ" but I bungled it by adding the "て" to the end. I was then trying to say that if you had your link for "追って" and also the entry "追って; 追而 【おって】 (adv,conj) (1) (追って only) later on; shortly; presently; afterwards; in due course; by and by; (2) P.S.", then perhaps you should have the separate entry for "meanwhile".
Now I see my error, I have rechecked for my original search and I can see that you have an existing entry, namely:-
追っかけ(P); 追っ掛け 【おっかけ】 (n) (1) chase scene; (2) groupie; paparazzo; (n-adv) (3) soon; by-and-by; (P)
Accordingly, "meanwhile", as in Nelson, would fit (3) above.

I don't think this entry can or should be touched. The other senses of おっかけ (other than the ます stem) are quite idiomatic. Having おっかけて point to 追っ掛ける is quite appropriate.
Am I missing something? |

I was searching for "おっかけて" and I got the above, but I have a note that Nelson gives the meaning for this as "meanwhile", but naturally it could be linked to the other meaning as well.
Much in same way as your dealing with the "追って" link and also the following:-
