I know we don't usually xref prefix matches, but this seems significant. In 2017 "noble" and "dignified" were dropped from this term, but if you see the xref, that's >60% of all use of this term.
Perhaps this entry should also have glosses like "elegance", "eloquence", or "refinement". I think that's the only way to cover the "格調がある" usage. The current glosses are just so neutral. The daijs entry makes reference to "精神的な高さ" right in the definition. |
