I discussed this situation with a couple of Japanese language specialists and they were of the view that it's quite inappropriate to classify this sort of term as having a gikun reading.

why? [gikun] just means kun-reading not derived from the component characters it can be a one-time thing (その場限り as said in kokugos) and i don't see why it couldn't apply to this sort of slangy entries as well seems more useful than not to me
