as for this entry, the problem I see is that for 大-, we/I don't know the pronunciation since it seems to depend on the word after it. examples: 大笑い (oo-), 大河 (tai-), 大地 (dai-).. so for me it is very convenient to lookup the correct pronunciation.
I can imagine that for paper dictionaries, they may have to save space, but this is not problem for an online dictionary.
also note that eijiro does have an entry for this, as in my original reference. |

No, the Reverso pronunciation is just text-to-speech. Here are references I commonly use to confirm pronunciations aside from the usual dictionaries:
* NHK日本語発音アクセント新辞典
* Forvo – community-contributed pronunciation samples by native speakers
* Youglish – shows matches in subtitled YouTube videos
* MeCab/Unidic – you can install this locally, but Jim has graciously made it available online (http://www.edrdg.org/~jwb/jimtools.html)
* furigana.info
As for this entry, I don't think we need it. 大- is highly productive and this term is not in any Japanese dictionaries. |
