Sounds like it's technically possible but never really used in practice. Since daijisen has a "加速装置" sense and Marcus found some genuine usages in google books, I can't imagine that anyone will impugn us for keeping the "pedal" meaning as a third sense with a [rare] tag.

I would argue that koj and gakkoku say it's from アクセレーター (I included the others not as support for the change, just to give a fair summary). That plus the inclusion in Luminous plus the evidence of usage seems enough to include it. I'm sure we could find much more (old) usage on lab.ndl if we wanted too. I think it's fine.

The meaning of the first sense wasn't clear to me. Judging by the kokugos I think it's referring to things like graphics or cryptographic accelerators.

Daijirin displays "アクセレレーター," so probably better to make that [rk] rather than [sk].

The kokugos only tell us that アクセル is a shortening of アクセラレーター/accelerator. None of them have an accelerator pedal sense for アクセレレーター.
Looking at the n-grams, I don't think we need an accelerator pedal sense. To say it's "rare" is an understatement.
